Harmonising Algae-based LCAs: Selecting Systems and Data Providers

The 4th February 2025, CIRCALGAE participated in a webinar specifically dedicated to LCA experts. This webinar results of the synergy and collaboration between five algae EU funded projects:

SEAMARK, CIRCALGAE, AlgaePro BANOS, LOCALITY and REALM

Each project was rapidly presented by its LCA expert and then followed a panel discussion, moderated by Léa Braud, postdoctoral researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. This session was rich in discussions. The aim of this first webinar is to foster understanding and collaboration as a first step towards the harmonisation of algae LCA.

About LCA:

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a method for evaluating the environmental impacts associated with all stages in the life of a product. Today, there are a multitude of methods and data to qualify this impact, which explains the importance of this event and of collaboration between the various projects.
